EGCR’s Legal Fact of the Week: Computer Security Act of 1987

This act is an official U.S. Federal Law. This act was introduced in 1987, but did not become official till January 1988. The purpose of the act was to improve the security regarding sensitive documents. This information was stored in Federal computer systems.

Not only would security measures be improved, but the act calls for training of all system users.
